Here
is the Pavillion or the Dance Hall - seen behind the dock houses.
Underneath, boats could tie up, because part of it was built on thick
stilts. The building is completely round and the windows used to open
up to let the summer air flow as it carried the music of big dance
bands across the lake. Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Louis Armstrong
all played here. People from all over would come for the concerts.
Unfortunately, today, the Pavillion is gone. It had to be torn down due
to its dangerous condition. What a shame!
