This
is the front entrance to the East Wing Residence. There is a small
sunny patio there for afternoon tea (note the shade umbrella). Guests
of the hotel would stay here back in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s during
the peak of its popularity. Big Bands would come and play weekend
concerts. The place was sometimes referred to as "the jewel of the
north." These pen and ink drawings were completed about 20 years ago
before the place was renovated and the golf course restored. |
